The Danube Express Golden Eagle is a private luxury train operated by Golden Eagle Luxury Trains, carrying just 50 passengers through Central and Eastern Europe. There are five curated journeys to choose from: the Castles of Transylvania (7 days, Istanbul to Budapest), the Balkan Explorer (12 days, Venice to Istanbul), the Eastern Europe Discovery (12 days, Budapest to Vienna), Christmas Markets of Central Europe (8 days, Budapest to Munich), and New Year in Vienna (9 days, a circular journey from Budapest). Overall journey durations range from 7 to 12 days.

Fares start from £9,800 per person (twin share, Deluxe cabin) for the Castles of Transylvania itinerary, rising to £17,600 per person for the 12-day Balkan Explorer. Superior Deluxe cabins start from £12,700 per person on a twin-share basis. The train offers two private cabin categories. The Superior Deluxe Cabin (93 sq ft / 8.6 m²) features a full sofa, two armchairs by day and a king-size bed by night, two full-length picture windows, and a private en-suite bathroom with shower. The Deluxe Cabin (83 sq ft / 7.74 m²) converts from two armchairs to twin beds overnight and includes a large picture window and the same private en-suite facilities. Both cabin types include air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, USB ports, power sockets, dimmer lighting, reading lights, a wardrobe, and a safe.

All gratuities, drinks, and shore excursions are included in the fare. Freshly prepared meals are served in the single-sitting Restaurant car, and an on-board doctor is available around the clock.
